Dovid has been busy with projects on the boat while I have been working on getting a few websites up and running and all the moving parts needed to send traffic to those websites (including this one). Lots of tiny pieces to this puzzle that I am slowly putting together and by the end of this year should be in place enough to begin to be an additional source of income.
Emuna Endeavor Website Updates
I think I have FINALLY found a theme that I like for this site. We’ll see if it lasts until the end of the year. :-P The only thing that could make it better is if it had a stationary menu at the top… I may change it to the Poseidon theme that I am using on my Sail Ready site… We’ll see.
I am also trying to figure out how to do affiliate links since per the WP support page on the subject, such links are allowed as long as the blog site is not created ONLY for putting up affiliate links. In our case, they are definitely an afterthought used as an additional source of funds for this trip. I’ll be posting them in the upcoming posts as I figure out how to do it.
ALSO, I will be deleting most of the old posts soon. I want to basically have a whole “relaunch” (I know, AGAIN) in January 2017 as a prelude to our set sail in June 2017. Stay tuned for that news!
I don’t know if I will rewrite any of the posts for SEO (search engine optimization), though. That just sounds like TOO MUCH WORK. If my posts have the right words in them for folks to find this happy little blog, then awesome. If not? Oh well. :-P
The New Websites
I would be remiss in not putting up links to the other websites I am working on!
This is like the business version of this site. So far the planned categories are preparing to sail, product reviews (complete with affiliate links if we can get them), and random sailing related thoughts.
Zero to Infinity
This one is the business version of my online money making blog. It’s just a skeleton now but I will be writing the content based on my current blog posts (but edited for SEO). Stay tuned.
Speaking of my art blog and eCommerce, I added a store to my art Facebook page. I only have one thing in it right now but I will get on adding more soon. Plus I think I will add a store to my poetry Facebook too. (Because it’s not like I have a TON of projects going on at once right now! >_<)
One drawback on all this is in order to get traffic to ALL THESE PLACES that I mentioned above, I will have to have ALL THE SOCIAL MEDIA THINGS to go with each of them: Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest, Google+, Linkedin, ETC ETC ETC… AND each one needs to be ACTIVE. If you have been with us for any length of time, you know how much of a challenge this is for me sometimes. BOOOOO!!!
OH AND… I have to be WAY more up on the YouTube and Blogger versions of this Emuna thing because right now Google AdSense via Dov’s accounts for this are the ONLY things bringing in ANY money (only a couple of bucks a month but that is better than the ZERO that ALL THE OTHER THINGS are doing)… SO… A lot of work to be done. Wish me luck!
So that’s it…
She says laughingly. I’ll try to keep up better with this original blog. I appreciate all of you for following along with us as we prepare for the greatest adventure of our lives.
