I’m still going over things… One thing that is an issue for anyone planning a sailing trip – but especially a world circumnavigation – is finances. At this point, we will have enough to make it around the world. Now we need to find the finances to make it interesting and actually be able to stop at ports and explore the countries. That would be splendid! Thankfully we have time to gather people together who may be interested in following our journeys… and hopefully, people find it interesting enough to support financially as well as joining in conversations. Meeting new people in new places is part of the goal.
We also have time to plan destinations – people will be more interested when it’s all – “Hey, Emuna coming to a port near you for fun and goofy youtube times!” Plus we have a lot of swag ideas for things to give as thank you gifts for supporters and/or to sell. The beach pack is probably the most awesome. We will get small sealable containers that we will put sand from the shores we visit. We will put GPS coordinates on them so every sample will be exactly locatable on Google Earth.
There seriously have to be little cheap not taking up huge space stuff we can make/produce as swag and pressies and gifties and things for people who want to live vicariously because they are still land-locked or otherwise not able to travel. we’ll have a lot of time for making our own stuff – we are going to be averaging about 7 – 10 mph most days. :-P
The other things to earn income while we travel will be ads on our online profiles as well as I have my art and poetry available online too. Plus I will be applying to every travel grant for artists that I can find that I qualify to apply for (as long as it doesn’t require me to be in a certain place).
We will find a way I’m sure.
Thank you for reading this and we look forward to hearing from you!
