WE HAVE A BIGGER BOAT! ^_^
We were going to finish the renovation of Dovid’s boat but living in the space made us realize that the CAL 25 was fine for one but a bit cramped for two. We could have done it, but so many people in person and online who are more experienced boaters urged us to upsize. So… Dov had his friend scope out good deals for us since he knows more about boats and he found a lot of potential boats around Oregon and Washington… and finally he found the best possible boat right in our own back yard!
Dov’s friend Greg found a boat right across the way from his boat in the marina we were in and while we were looking at that one, a guy walking by pointed out that an even better boat was for sale further up the dock! The Scotty is a 28′ Newport about 30yrs old I think but well cared for. It has a little twin diesel but more than enough for our needs. We haven’t sailed yet but Dov did motor around the docks so we could move some things from the Emuna to the Scotty.
Which brings us to the title of the entry… The new boat is named Scotty. Since the other boat was never registered with the name Emuna, Dov was thinking of renaming the Scotty as Emuna, but his boatie friends advised to name it Emuna II instead if he really wants to rename the boat. So… we are STILL sailing around the world in a boat named Faith, just the 2.0 version! :-P
