Dovid and I are mainly working on survival on land right now. We happen to be in the group of people who was hard hit by the economic downturn since 2006. The economy for the stock market stays pretty steady but for people like us it is all we can do just to get by.
But there is still time for faith…
For me as an interdenominational Christian spiritualist, that means meditation prayer and my weekly helping cook food for the homeless every Sunday (I do this instead of going to a church building for service). I am by no means traditional, but I still make time to act on what I believe.
For Dovid there is preparation for Sukkot. If you are not familiar with Sukkot, Dovid wrote a really great entry on Daily Kos about it. I’d rather you click the link and read his words then to try to rephrase it here.
We are still on land, but that does not lessen our faith. The Emuna Endeavor is just as much about the journey before the sea as it is about the adventure once we get there.
As always, thanks for reading!
