We are accepting gifts so some who see this may wonder why they should financially support a project that is not officially a non-profit. I’ll be addressing that in the next few entries. I figure the best place to start is with the most basic question: What need is being addressed?
In today’s world there is so much violence and war that anything that could spread positivity is so greatly needed. Even the smallest way to bring people together will do so much towards healing the global society. This is what we hope to achieve.
We have started with ourselves. Dovid is a Jew of European descent and I am a Christian of African American descent. We met when we were coworkers at a major Fortune 500 company and found that we had much more in common than what would keep us apart so we became the best of friends. We are starting with our own friendship as an example of what can be achieved when the boundaries of differences are over reached.
We are not simply tourists, but people truly interested in the history and people of the places we will visit. We are reaching out now to get to know people in the countries we will be stopping in. We are sharing our experiences with the world wide web in order to reach as many people as possible.
So we are hoping to be another positive thing that will bring people together. Linking all the people following our journey together in a form of unity that has the chance to build world wide community. The word “Emuna” means “Faith” in Hebrew. This journey is a step out on faith that there are enough people in the world who want to connect in peace to make this possibility a reality.
